Local Boy Scout Creates Community Garden

Just outside the windows of the Magazine Area in the Adult Department, you'll notice a terraced garden emerging. It is the work of Tim O'Brien, who is leading a group of Scouts from Troop 433 in creating a community garden as his Eagle Scout project. Fall vegetables and flowers will be planted soon in the beds they built. When ready, the produce will be harvested and used by children in the library's Book Bistro and Kids Cooking programs, as well as donated to the local soup kitchen to help feed the hungry in our community. Good work, Tim!
