This year we are offering two events for the Long Island Reads program. Hope to see you there!
Sag Harbor - David Houston returns on Sunday April 17, at 2PM to give a dramatic radio-style reading, with music and effects, of scenes from Whitehead’s absorbing book. Register @ http://bit.ly/i5mISA
Discussion of the book - on Thursday, April 21, from 3:15-4:15pm. No registration required. Books will be available at the Circulation Desk one month prior to the discussion

Library Budget Vote
Please remember to vote at the library's annual budget vote and trustee election on Tuesday, April 5. The proposed budget is for the 2011-2012 budget year. The trustee position is a five year term. The candidates are Chris Hanley and Scott Thebold. Budget details and statements from the candidates can be found here. Voting will take place between 8 AM and 9 PM.

The Greening of Longwood
On Thursday, January 27, the Library will host two nationally-recognized speakers on sustainable design and LEED certified buildings, John Boecker and Gerould Wilhelm. This talk will be held from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in the Library Community Room. John Boecker is an architect who specializes in high performance buildings, practicing in Kutztown, Pennsylvania with the 7group architectural firm. Gerould Wilhelm is the Principal Botanist/Ecologist for the Conservation Design Forum in Elmhurst, Illinois. Please register online with code LWD045, or call 924-6400, ext. 250.
