We have recently upgraded our voicemail system, and streamlined the telephone directory by adding a library menu. The library menu can be found on the left hand side of our webpage. The library menu is:
Press 1 for the Circulation Desk, and to renew items
Press 2 for Adult Reference Desk and Programs
Press 3 for Children's Reference Desk and Programs
Press 4 for Computer Classes
Press 5 for Computer Technical Support
Press 6 for the Director's office
Press 8 to repeat the menu
Press # for a library directory
Press O for an Operator
You may also continue to dial a certain person's 3 digit extension directly.

No Smoking Policy
At its May 2009 meeting, the Library Board of Trustees adopted an entryway ban on smoking within 50 feet of the library building. New "smokeless" ashtrays have been placed in the library parking lot, away from the library entrances. Patrons are encouraged to use these receptacles to dispose of cigarettes. The receptacles at the building entrances have been removed. Thank you for your cooperation.

It's Here: Food for Fines!
Super Bowl Sunday was "Souper Bowl Sunday": we collected over 100 cans of soup as we "kicked off" this new program. Those who owe fines for returning materials late now have an option that also helps others. For the month of February, anyone who owes overdue fines may pay with a can of soup at the rate of one can per dollar owed (for example, $3 due = 3 cans of soup). The library will then donate the soup cans to a local food pantry. Please make sure the cans are not dented or have expired dates. This program is for fines only, not lost items and will continue through the month of February.

Telephone Changes
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, we began to make some changes to our telephone system, and began using the Automated Attendant feature. When calling the library, you will now hear a recording which allows you to dial the person or department you wish to reach directly. A list of telephone extensions may be found on the left hand side of the homepage to directly dial the extension of the person you wish to reach. You may also press the # key to access a library directory. This change allows our Circulation staff more time to serve patrons in the library. Please contact Suzanne Johnson, Assistant Director, at ext. 274 if you have any questions or concerns.

New, Improved Septic System being installed
If you're wondering what that big pile of dirt is on the west side of the library, it is our new, improved septic system. Several trees needed to be removed, but new ones will be planted in the spring. Please be careful when walking near the construction area.
