New Museum Pass Program
The Library has begun an exciting, new program of lending family passes to local museums. You may borrow a pass, and use it to visit the Long Island Children's Museum in Garden City, the Long Island Museum of Art, History, and Carriages in Stony Brook, Old Westbury Gardens, and the SportsMuseum in New York City. Click on the "Museum Pass Program" icon on the library homepage to reserve one, or call the Children's Department for more information. Museum passes are limited to Longwood library cardholders only.

The Sports Museum of America is now available!
It's so funny that you just started this program...I read an article in "Parents" the other day about checking your local library for museum passes :) It would be great if you could get one for Atlantis soon!
This isn't about the museum passes but I didn't know where else to post it. I think the Longwood library is great but I have one question. Why does the library paste the book pocket on the maps and charts? There is usually a blank next-to-last page you could use. The maps are there because the author or publisher thought they would help the reader understand the book. They are part of the book. You wouldn't paste something over the main text. Why paste on the map?
Dear avid reader:
Thank you for your comment and suggestion. I have passed it on to the Head of Technical Services where the books and other materials are processed.

Awesome program!! I also hope that more museums become available soon.
We are hoping to add more museums to this new program. The next one will be Mystic Seaport Museum, in Connecticut.
